Silk Butterflies' Greeting to Mission Pakapieni

Magazine "Ieva", August 13, 2003

Last Saturday, the Jomas street in Jurmala was turned into a creative workshop where well-known people from different backgrounds gave a try to a not so familiar technique as painting on silk. When the paintings were ready, they were sold in an auction.

The organizers - magazine "Pastaiga" -  gave the amount received, Ls1514 ($2656), to the Babies' Shelter of Mission Pakapieni where there now live 5 young mothers, whose social situations are critical, together with their babies.

The first flower of Inga's "Winter Dream of Summer" is being painted. "Now I know how to more productively use my habit of drawing on the work plan margins," Inga joked, "now I will paint on silk."
